Folds, folds, folds...

Mon Nov 30, 2009, 7:06 PM
This last installment was a bit complicated. But so is the fold I was describing in the tutorial. I hope I didn't scare anyone with the final example drawing. It's completely doable, you know. As a matter of fact, probably 80% of the fold complications that will occur in a drawing can be handled by these three folds alone.

The last four folds (in no particular order) are the Spiral, the Tension, the Zig-zag and the Inert.

Technically, the drawing I did in Half-Lock Folds Part 3 is also an example of some inert folds. Inert folds are just folds made from fabric lying on a surface. As a matter of fact, these folds are just variations of the first three, IMHO.

Once the last folds are out of the way, I'll cover some different things, like wind-blown folds. Or something.

[NOTE: Dec. 04, 1:18 AM.]

I may have to modify the entries for the last four folds. I have an issue with the classification of the Spiral Fold. From the reading I've done of the resources I have, I don't know if the Spiral actually classifies as a regularly-occurring fold. IMHO the fold I see a lot that is claimed to be a spiral is actually what I would classify as a Radial fold. But as I've said before, these folds have been called different things by different artists and it's best to know the folds by the way they behave, and not so much by name.

If it comes right down to it, I may have to include more than seven folds in the list. It remains to be seen...

:iconharogirl:
Thank you for the page visit.
:iconzejannosaru:
Welcome. It was definitely worth the visit. But how do I fave? I didn't see a link to click on your page.
:iconharogirl:
To fave a image, look to the left side of the picture and click on the 'collect' button. That is how you fave!
:iconzejannosaru:
DUH on me - Faves are for images, Watches are for pages, and Trix are for kids.

Oy. I think I need sleep.
:iconharogirl:
Silly Rabbit - thanks for the watch!

Hmm...

Lots of ymmy art along the left side, but the buttons are a no-show. Do I have to adjust my view or something?

Settling for watching right now...
